New Experiential strategy

User experience

Using timber frame gives the opportunity for lots of exposed structural finishes which most people find aesthetically pleasing and somewhat comforting. My idea of having a channel atrium against the public hall means there will be a very tall ceiling, something not common with timber frame buildings, so a structural solution will have to be found.

The glazed perimeter should make the connection between SFLC and SPH seem more considered, as well as illuminating the space and the brick facade.

The space should feel open, public and inviting.

Within every floor of the building there will be glazing bordering the plants of the greenhouse. Large expanses of glazing without loss of thermal performance will be possible here as the greenhouse will act like a sort of double skin, insulating the building and also the floors of the greenhouse will shade from direct summer sun.

Education spaces will be open for people to walk in and out fo as the please without feeling like they're intruding.

The point of entry to the public hall is currently a window, which I will extend to floor level and turn into an entry point. the room is currently used simply for storage however I wish to create a further sense of surrealism, as you ascend into a window you will enter a room entirely clad in wood, which will function as an extra room for seating of the restaurant.
